My favourite series is "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander Mc-Call Smith. There are seven books in the series and I am now on book four, "The Kalaharai Typing School for Men". I now have the entire collection (in paperback) since it was very difficult to get a copy from the public library. I had the most difficulty getting the fourth book and I actually bought it in Lincoln-Nebraska. Books are also a LOT cheaper in the United States! (No GST and state taxes are lower). What I like about "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" is that the main character is a woman and it takes me to world I have never been to but would like to visit someday.
I am also a fan of Belva Plain and I have read everything she has written so far. I am always on the lookout for when she writes a new book. Belva writes about family sagas and how people come together in difficult situations. I’m hoping she will write another book soon. Some of my favourites include: Looking Back, Her Father's House, Homecoming and the Carousal.
