Patricia's Favourite Book's
As the title says: this is a list of some of my favourite books. Many people may not be familiar with the first two titles so I have provided a link about the stories to various webpages. I hope you find these interesting.
1. The Master of Hestviken by Sigrid Undset
2. Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset
3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
4. The Eustace Diamonds by Anthony Trollope
To read a copy of the Eustace Diamonds click on the link which will take you to an eBook from the University of Adelaide in Sydney, Australia.
5. The Forsyte Saga by John Galsworthy
This book and the Masterpiece Theatre series are highly recommended. I am currently reading the books and watching the series and the series seems to be faithful to the print version.
6. The Deluge Trilogy by Henryk Sienkeiwcz
This trilogy is massive. These books are considered some of the best of Polish literature and Sienkeiwcz won the Nobel Prize for them. He is better known as the author of Quo Vadis which was made into a movie. I read these books last summer, well sort of, it took me 6 months to read all three books which have a combined total of about 5000 pages. Good reading for long stretches of unemployment or a short stay in prison.
7. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
I haven't read this book yet, but I know I'm going to like it.
8. The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien
If you've lived under a rock the last 5 years and haven't seen the movies, read the books first.
9. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
10. Spiritual Passages. The Psychology of Spiritual Development by Benedict J. Groeschel
